Will beautifying my ID photo get it rejected?

How does face shadow removal work?
Under a ceiling light or side sun, half the face is often dark or there's a shadow under the nose and chin. The system rebalances the light evenly across the face and removes shadows on the background, so the face reads clearly — as ID photos require no shadows on the face or background.
