Taiwan Visa Overview For Vietnamese Citizens
Vietnamese citizens need a visa or entry permit before travelling to Taiwan. The good news is that there are several routes, and some travellers qualify for a completely FREE entry permit. Choosing the right route can save you significant time and money.
Three Routes Into Taiwan
- eVisa (electronic visa): Issued through visawebapp.boca.gov.tw, mainly for group tourists travelling via designated travel agencies.
- FREE Travel Authorization Certificate: For Vietnamese citizens who hold a valid visa or residence card (or one expired within the past 10 years) of certain developed countries.
- Sticker visa: Applied for in person at the Taipei Economic & Cultural Office (TECO) in Vietnam for all other cases.
Note: Visa policies can change. Please check the latest information at boca.gov.tw before you travel.

The certificate is valid for 90 days, allows multiple entries, and permits a stay of up to 30 days per visit. You apply online and print the certificate to present on arrival.
